The Types of Computer Tables

Computer tables are not only functional, they are also an attractive piece of furniture that can add to the decor of any home or office. Computer tables come in an array of designs, types, styles and materials. A computer table is a good way to make the most of limited space; they not only hold the computer, they can also hold items such as printers, files and calendars. Does this Spark an idea?

Split-top Tables

The split-top computer table is designed for those who generally use the computer for leisure instead of business. The split-top accommodates your computer, mouse, monitor and keyboard, with space left over for a pad of paper and not much else. The split-top table is usually on wheels, which makes it mobile. It is also height adjustable, making it easy to use in different rooms while sitting on different seats. The split-top table is probably better used for a laptop than a large desktop computer because of its adjustable features, ease of mobility and limited space.

Adjustable Tables

Adjustable tables are even smaller than split-top tables and are designed with laptop users in mind. This type of table is great for those who like to use their laptop while on the couch or in a recliner. You can adjust these tables to different heights, depending on where you're sitting. Some models have cup holders and a small side table for pencil and paper.

Utility Tables

Utility tables are larger with added shelves for more storage. Utility tables also offer height adjustability, as well as storage for printers, books, files and other office supplies. They usually have wheels, which makes them somewhat portable. Although not as mobile as split-top or adjustable tables, utility tables are good options for those using a desktop computer.

Ergonomic Tables

Ergonomic tables are large enough and sturdy enough to hold a desktop computer and everything that goes with it. They have height adjustability so the height can be set comfortably for the user. This type of table is made in a wide variety of styles, colors, and materials that enhance the dcor of any area. Ergonomic computer tables are not on wheels, so you cannot easily move them.
